How we keep Atmelo honest

We're a small team, and we'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.

The upside of small: we can actually check our own work.

Every so often we run a full audit of how Atmelo operates — not just "does the app work," but "is what we're telling ourselves true." The most recent one caught our own status reports being too rosy: a monitoring summary said "all clear" because it only looked at the last 24 hours, and it turned out a couple of real issues had been sitting unseen for two weeks. It also caught a small data-quality issue that had gotten slightly worse in the hours since we'd first noticed it. We fixed the reporting the same day and queued the deeper fixes, because catching your own mistakes only matters if you act on them.

We don't expect that to be exciting to read. We do think it's the kind of thing worth knowing about a company you're trusting to tell you what's actually happening in Chicago tonight.
